"European Snow Law Forum”

Competition prize for a graduation thesis
relating to the Snow Law

Notification of the 1st competition - November 2007

The Organising Committee for the European Snow Law Forum in Bormio would like to announce a competition. We intend to award a prize to the best graduation thesis on a subject relating to the regulations and legal problems surrounding winter sports (circulation on the snow, facility and installation management, insurance problems, teaching, the regulations in different countries etc.).

The prize aims to help heighten awareness of the snow law in Italian universities.

The competition is open to Italian and foreign citizens that have attained a laurea specialistica/magistrale (a five-year master’s degree) in law, in economics or sports science, or a degree (three-year) in sport and exercise sciences in an Italian university during the academic years 2005-2006 or 2006-2007, provided that the thesis has been defended by 31st July 2007, and received a grade of no less than 105/110. Entrants should be no more than thirty years of age.

The € 2,500 prize will be awarded to the best thesis and paid in a single payment. Furthermore, the thesis will be published in full on the Forum’s web site: www.forumneve.eu.

A committee comprising some of the most illustrious Italian jurists on winter sports will make the final decision as to who will receive the prize. As well as awarding the prize, the committee will also be able to give an honourable mention to other competition entries.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place in Bormio during the third European Snow Law Forum, which will be held from 23rd to 25th November 2007. The winner will be a guest of the Organising Committee.
